Happy New Year!
Have I mentioned ever that I hate New Year's Eve? I do. I would explain why, in case you don't know, but I can't.
This year was the first year I agreed to go out since the year that made me hate it. That is, after 5 or 6 different people invited me to do things. At the last minute I took Heather up on her offer to go to a party hosted by a coworker of a friend of hers (who I have met a couple times). People had babies there. Not my scene. I'd forgotten to do something that I had to do before midnight so I went home around 10. Spoke with a couple of the other people who had asked me to go out with them and they all had either changed plans or decided to stay home. I changed into my comfy pants and cried for a couple hours. That is what I had hoped to avoid by going out.
Around midnight, Mom brought Pax home. She had an earache and wanted her Mommy. After having bawled for 2 or 3 hours, she quieted down and went to sleep as soon as she was in my arms. I have to admit - while I hate seeing her in pain and being sick, I love the feeling I get when I am reminded that I am the only one who can make it better.
Today I get to go the Christmas party for Dad's side of the family. I feel like puking. After the night I had last night, I don't know if I have the energy to deal with Tammy.
Anyway, I hope you are all having a wonderful 2006 thus far!

New Year's Eve is just another night to me. I stay up if there's something good on the tube, otherwise I go to bed around 10:00. Last night I was up until 11:00 -- not because anything good was on TV (actually, Dad was watching one of those stupid-assed Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns -- YUCK!) but because I was on the phone with Kender for quite a while after my folks and I watched The Brothers Grimm and I had research things I wanted to finish before I went to bed.
Sorry you cried, sorry Paxy is feeling lousy, sorry you have to put up with Tammy the Poop-face today. ::hugs you::

I cried last night, too. And talked to several other people who were home alone, too. I'm sorry I was a lame-ass and didn't go out with you :-(
That sounded like a bad, rhyming Hallmark card, didn't it?

::hugs E, too::
If I'd known, I'd've invited you both to watch The Brothers Grimm with us. No crying there!

Hugs to you and Pax both. Hope things are better now. Mommy's arms are always the best place to be with an earache or other owie.

Happy New Year! (I secretly feel glad that when my daughter is sad or hurt, she runs past everyone and straight into my arms.) It's the 2nd, so I hope Tammy didn't drive you too crazy.
